NATIONAL RAGGING PREVENTION PROGRAMME

Objectives

To prevent and prohibit ragging practices of any kind and protect new entrants from the menace of ragging within the campus and to provide a safe and congenial academic environment for its students in accordance with the Guidelines issued by UGC/AICTE.

The college campus is a place to form lifelong friendships and remember unforgettable moments. The anti-ragging commiittee at Vindhya Institute of Technology and Science, Satna is chaired by the head of the Institution, along with several other commiittee members comprising senior faculties. Anyi-ragging squad members from all departments have been assigned to monitor students' discipline inside the campus.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Creating awareness among the students about ragging.
• Pasting anti-ragging posters at important places.
• Sending circulars in line with the guidelines given by Government of Madhya Pradesh, Supreme Court of India, UGC/AICTE.
• Taking precautionary actions to avoid ragging activities inside as well as outside the campus.
• Conducting awareness programs on Anti - Ragging in the form of meetings and sharing PPTs among the students and faculty.
• Collecting undertaking / affidavit from students and parents as per AICTE/UGC guidelines.
• Conducting meeting whenever required and discuss relevant issues, in consultation with the principal seeking his approval.
• Other duties and responsibilities as when arise.

Procedure for lodging complaint and action to be taken

• The students may feel free to put up a grievance in writing to the member or in-charge of anti-ragging committee.
• The anti-ragging committee will act upon those cases which have been forwarded along with the necessary documents.
• Whosoever directly or indirectly commits, participates in, abets, or propagates ragging within or outside of Institution shall on conviction, be punished as per the rules.
