Objectives

In compliance to UGC guidelines, University has constituted the Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC) to ensure that all students and staff have equal opportunities, regardless of their background or identity. The Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC) of Vindhya Institute of Technology and science, Satna ensures that all students and staff have equal opportunities and more inclusive environment.

Functions of the Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC):

◈ 1. Promoting Inclusive Policies

○ Ensure non-discrimination in admission, academic environment, and employment.
○ Monitor the implementation of policies for equal opportunity as per UGC and constitutional provisions.

◈ 2. Support for Marginalized Groups

○ Provide assistance to students from SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer), Minorities, Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), Women, and other disadvantaged groups.
○ Organize special support programs (coaching, counseling, skill development) for these groups.

◈ 3. Awareness and Sensitization

○ Conduct workshops, seminars, and training to raise awareness about equity, diversity, and Human rights.
○ Promote gender sensitization and disability awareness across the campus.

◈ 4. Grievance Redressal

○ Act as a forum to receive complaints related to discrimination or denial of opportunity.
○ Ensure proper investigation and redressal as per institutional norms.

◈ 5. Capacity Building and Skill Development

○ Facilitate remedial coaching, soft skills training, and personality development programs for students from underrepresented backgrounds.

◈ 6. Monitoring and Reporting

○ Maintain data on the participation of marginalized groups in various academic and co-curricular activities.
○ Submit periodic reports to regulatory authorities like UGC or the institution's governing body.

◈ 7. Liaison Role

○ Act as a nodal agency to coordinate with government and non-government bodies for the welfare of disadvantaged groups.
○ Implement schemes like Post-Matric Scholarships, National Fellowship for SC/ST, and others. ○ Submit periodic reports to regulatory authorities like UGC or the institution's governing body.

○ Encourage institutional culture where diversity is respected, and every individual is empowered to perform to their potential.
